Marshalls move mountains with Manitou 20.07.06

Marshalls the UK's leading manufacturer of superior natural stone and innovative concrete hard landscaping products have recently taken delivery the highest capacity telescopic telescopic handler in the Manitou range , the MHT10160 supplied by Hessle.

The machine has gone into service at their natural stone division near Halifax in West Yorkshire ,performing a multitude of handling duties in the quarry and at the saw sheds.

David Smith - Operations Manager explained that this machine has replaced 2 machines , a Cat 980 loading shovel with forks and a SVETRUC 16ton capacity industrial forklift which was the prime mover around the stock yard . The Manitou has the ability to travel on rough terrain and therefore down to the quarry bottom and bring block up ,but is still compact enough to manoeuvre around the yard. The obvious cost saving is just the start of the advantages to running the Manitou.One other advantage is the stability of the machine , the Manitou with its low height therefore low centre of gravity compared to a loading shovel is more stable , whilst still maintaining good ground clearance.
